What is Cardholder name?

It identifies the person who owns the card account. On personal cards it is the owner’s name, and on business cards it is usually the employee’s name, sometimes together with the company name.

At checkout, type the name exactly as it appears on the card. Banks do not always verify the name itself, but merchants and fraud filters compare it with the billing details, so a mismatch can lead to a declined payment or a manual review.

For merchants and affiliates, an obviously fake or mismatched cardholder name is a typical fraud signal. Sales made with stolen cards end up as chargebacks, and the related commissions are reversed.
