What is Check (cheque)?

The program prints a check for your commission and posts it to your address; you deposit it at your bank. It needs no online account, which is why it was the default in early affiliate marketing.

Today it is the slowest option. Postage takes days or weeks, banks outside the US may charge high fees or refuse foreign checks, and a lost check has to be cancelled and reissued. Some programs also charge a small fee per check.

If the program offers wire transfer, PayPal or Paxum, those are usually faster and cheaper — especially outside the US.
