What is Tier 1 countries?
Affiliates group GEOs into tiers by how much users spend online. There is no official list, and each network draws the line a little differently, but Tier 1 almost always includes the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia, often New Zealand, Germany, the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Ireland.
Tier 2 usually covers the rest of Europe and richer markets in Asia and Latin America, and Tier 3 the developing markets with low purchasing power but huge volume.
Tier 1 offers pay the highest commissions, but traffic there is also the most expensive and competitive, so a high payout does not always mean a higher profit. Many affiliates test an offer in cheaper Tier 2 or 3 GEOs first and compare EPC and CPM before scaling.
