What is Video ads?
There are two main types. In-stream ads play inside a video player: before the video (pre-roll), during it (mid-roll) or after it (post-roll), often with a skip button after a few seconds. The player loads them through a VAST tag. Outstream ads need no player on the page: the ad brings its own player and appears in the content or in a corner of the screen, like a video slider.
For publishers, video usually pays a higher CPM than banner ads, especially on tube and streaming sites where in-stream spots sit right in the player. For advertisers, a short video explains an app, game or product faster than a static image.
Keep the frequency reasonable: one pre-roll per video or session is common, and long ads that cannot be skipped drive viewers away.
